# Choose Your HawkFi Agent

HawkFi Agents has three agent types: Market Making Agent, Screener Agent, and Osprey Trading Agent.

Use this page to choose the live workflow before you fund or configure an agent.

Before funding a Market Making Agent, check its [current access status](/whitepaper/hawkfi-agents/market-making-agents-mma.md).

## What you will accomplish

By the end of this guide, you should know which HawkFi Agent matches the job you want to automate and where to continue.

| If you want HawkFi to | Choose | Why |

| Manage buy and sell quotes around price on a pool you already selected | [Market Making Agent](/whitepaper/hawkfi-agents/market-making-agents-mma.md) | Uses Dynamic Limit Order mechanics to place and refresh maker quotes around price. |
| Screen pools 24/7 and route qualified LP entries into a HawkFi execution model | [Screener Agent with Osprey](/whitepaper/hawkfi-agents/screener-agents-osprey-v1.md) | Uses Osprey for screening and entry discovery, then uses HawkFi Models and automations after entry. |
| Use eligible Osprey signals for direct token entries and full-position exits | [Osprey Trading Agent](/whitepaper/hawkfi-agents/osprey-trading-agent.md) | Uses Osprey models and user-configured filters, sizing, allocation, and exit controls to manage token trades. |
| Test a setup before using live capital | [HawkFi Laboratory](/whitepaper/hawkfi-laboratory/hawkfi-laboratory.md) | Simulates Market Making Agent behavior or LP model behavior on historical pool conditions. |
| Start from a model for a manually selected LP position | [HawkFi Models](/whitepaper/models-and-automations-library/hawkfi-models.md) | Provides execution models for different assets and market regimes. Models are not a separate Agent type. |

## Choose by task

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Decide whether you already know the pool

Choose Market Making Agent when you already have a pool in mind and want live maker quotes around its price.

Choose Screener Agent when you want Osprey to screen for qualified opportunities before HawkFi enters an LP position.

Choose Osprey Trading Agent when you want eligible Osprey signals to become direct token trades within configured capital, filter, and exit limits.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Match the workflow to the market

Market Making Agent works best for sideways, range bound, consolidating, or neutral price action where live bid and ask quotes can operate around price.

Screener Agent is for opportunity discovery. Osprey screens top pools continuously, then routes qualified entries into the selected HawkFi execution model.

Osprey Trading Agent is for Osprey-based token trading. It uses the selected Osprey model and filters before entering a token trade from the agent's WSOL balance.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Decide whether to test first

Use HawkFi Laboratory before live deployment when you want to compare settings, study drawdown, inspect inventory behavior, or test whether a configuration fits a historical market window.

Laboratory is a simulation product. It is separate from live HawkFi Agents.

## How to know you chose the right path

You should be able to answer three questions before continuing:

1. Do you want HawkFi to manage quotes, open screened LP positions, or manage direct token trades?
2. Which market behavior makes that workflow appropriate?
3. Will you test the setup in Laboratory before using live capital?
